ASBESTOS OPEN LAB 2025

Open Lab is a 2 day event where artists of different disciplines share their work. This year we are collaborating with Asbestos Art Space in Helsinki which will feature an event of improvised music, installations, performance art and theatre.

Come and hang out, view new art, listen to music, enjoy performances and meet some wonderful local and international artist.

This is a continuation of the Hjorted LAB, first presented in the Hjorted Art and Music Festival 2024. The event is supported with help from Helsiniki City.

  • Jess Rose

    Jessica-Rose Hill is an actor and performer. Her works focus on physical theatre and neurodiversity.

  • Samuel D Loveless

    Samuel D Loveless is an award-winning neurodivergent creative, working in a plethora of mediums, predominantly located in the sonic realm. Having studied at Goldsmiths, University of London, Royal Conservatoire The Hague and Royal College of Music, he is currently exploring the relationship between performer, space and audience, with accessibility and inclusivity being central to his work.

  • Yucong Huang

    Yucong Huang is a versatile international pianist, a poet, and an interdisciplinary artist. She is a classically trained pianist from New England Conservatory (BM) and Guildhall School of Music & Drama (Artist Masters).

  • Kirke Gross

    Kirke Gross is an Estonian cellist and improviser. She is currently pursuing an MMus Performance and Related Studies degree at Goldsmiths, University of London. She focuses on experimental music repertoire and is also composing her own music.

    Oscar Morris is music producer, musician and composer based in Stockholm, Sweden and currently studying at The Royal College of Music in Stockholm.

  • Joanna Kerkelä

    Joanna is a Stockholm based dancer and dance artist from Finland and graduated from Stockholm University of the Arts in June 2023. She navigates her own artistic practice through the physical somatics and fictions, interest in the poetics and politics, inner and outer surfaces in and from dance.
